T’ai Chi with Juanolo Gutierrez
Normandy Village Hall, Manor Fruit Farm, Glaziers Lane, Normandy, nr Guildford, Surrey, GU3 2DD - 3rd March 2012
3rd and 4th March 2011
10am - 5pm both days.
£35/£40 for one day or £70/£75 for both days members/non members.
To move from our centre, to be conscious of our body axis and to feel how the whole of our structure works is fundamental to t’ai chi.
This workshop will help deepen your understanding of the body through exercises taken from the Yiquan chi kung practice and adapting them to isolated movements from the tai chi Form.
Similarly, you will practice Push Hands and work with partners to help adjust your body posture, using your body structure to absorb and avoid the use of force.
The aim is to move in the most natural and relaxed way. You do not need an intimate knowledge of the Form.
Please bring lunch to share and a cushion for sitting.
Normandy Village Hall is less than a mile from Wanborough train station. It is a 5 minute drive from the A3 and A31.
The ESTCC AGM will be held on the Saturday evening, and will include dinner. All are welcome to attend.

Myth, Mind and Body with Tew Bunnag & Emilios Bouratinos
Roselidden Farm, Treven Bal, Nr Helston, Cornwall, TR13 0PT - 31st May 2012
31st May - 4th June 2012
Myth is a journey into the land of metaphors and symbols that evoke a response in the listener’s heart/mind.
You are given a key with which to unlock the gate into your own deep consciousness, where the fragmented self finds wholeness; where compassion and the resulting morality are discovered; where empathy begins to have life; where the responsibility for one’s actions is born. Through the body and its actions, ritual is born and through ritual, myth is given life.
The intention is to work with specific myths which are particularly relevant to our times, along with the practice of meditation and T’ai Chi.
